Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites applications for three (3) open-rank core faculty positions in International Politics.
We are searching for scholars of comparative politics, U.S. politics, international relations, and security studies to join our International Politics curricular group of internationally recognized scholars. These hires will play a key role in advancing GU-Q’s interdisciplinary teaching and research mission.
Qualifications
•Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in political science, government, or a closely related field in the social sciences.
•We are open to a variety of methodological approaches; the ability to teach undergraduate courses in research methods, data science, and/or statistical analysis is desirable. We particularly seek scholars with dynamic and innovative research trajectories.
•Scholars specializing in political behavior, interest groups, campaigns and elections, new approaches to regional security, emerging and strategic technologies, environmental politics, and the geopolitics of international trade, supply chains, and migration are especially encouraged to apply.
•Scholarly expertise in China and East Asia, Europe, or Latin America is desirable but not essential.
•Candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching and research, as evidenced by publications in-or potential to publish in-internationally recognized journals.
Academic Environment and Faculty Support

Applicants should provide a cover letter detailing teaching and research interests, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy (no more than 500 words), evidence of teaching excellence (such as recent student course ratings, peer observation reports, etc.), and the names of three scholarly references.
