The ASA 2025 CFP is Open for Submissions!

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the 2025 African Studies Association Annual Meeting Call for Proposals! Join us in Atlanta, GA this November 20-22 for our 68th Annual Meeting.
This year’s theme is Crossing Boundaries and Recovering Intellectual Traditions, authored by 2025 Program Chairs Pedro Monaville (McGill University) and Anatoli Ignatov (Appalachian State University). The CFP will close in March so don’t delay, prepare your submissions early!

How to participate in the 2025 ASA Annual Meeting:
Read the 2025 theme essay: Crossing Boundaries and Recovering Intellectual Traditions
Read FAQs and learn about three new session types in the Submission & Participation Guidelines.
Find likeminded presenters and spark new ideas in our Call for Co-Panelists forum.
Register early in MyASA to submit to the CFP.
Become an Individual or Institutional Member for discounted registration and to enable increased ASA programming and events throughout the calendar year.
Join Coordinate Organizations and participate in sponsored sessions and activities.
Once you’re ready, Submit your session proposal!

All participants must pre-register in MyASA to be considered during review. If you have concerns, please email the ASA Secretariat at members@africanstudies.org.
