ESN Peer Networking

ESN Peer Networks:

ESN Peer Networks are self-led and designed to connect emerging scholars with their peers and grow their network across disciplines and geographic location. Whether you’re looking for writing support, feedback on your research, structured reading discussions, or career guidance, this program is designed to help you thrive.

Peer Networks consist of 8–12 members, co-led by two volunteer organizers, and supported by an ESN Executive Committee (EC) member. All groups will meet virtually on Zoom.

The following groups provide structured peer support:

Writing Accountability Group – This writing group is open to all ESN members. Meet online for a dedicated 90 minute writing and goal-setting session every Friday. This group is hosted by the ESN.
New Books in African Studies Reading Group (monthly) – Read and discuss recent publications and cutting-edge scholarship in African Studies. This group is hosted by the ESN.
Peer Feedback Writing Group (monthly) – Each month, 1-2 members share their drafts and receive peer-feedback from group members on journal articles, dissertation chapters, etc.
