The Emerging Scholars Network is piloting a Mentorship program to connect graduate students and early-career scholars with senior scholars within the field of African Studies. If you would like to be a mentor, please fill out this form by February 24st to register for a 6-month mentorship commitment with an emerging scholar. Signing up entails committing to:
1. A monthly 1-hour conversation with your mentee for six months (March-May and August-October 2025).
The meeting can be over any medium you choose, such as zoom, teleconferencing, phone, or email.
2. Mentees can define goals or projects to work on through the mentorship.
3. Mentors must commit to be available for these meetings, provide a conducive and supportive conversational space to their mentee, and respond promptly to messages from the mentees.
To make the process smooth and seamless, we will do our best to match you with a mentee that is along your common professional/academic interests. Please use this form to fill out information that can help this process!
