December 2, 2020 Uganda Studies Group Statement on Electoral Violence in Uganda
January 14, 2019 Statement by the North American Association of Scholars on Cameroon on human rights
The Central African Studies Association—a coordinate organisation of the African Studies Association–and its members have recently issued a declaration of support for Professors Isidore Ndaywel, Thierry Nlandu Mayambu, Justin Okana and their colleagues of the Comité Laïc de Coordination in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These eminent colleagues have recently been arrested by Congolese government for their advocacy in favour of credible and transparent elections.
The African Studies Association wishes to call the attention of its members to this important statement of the CASA. We join with them in supporting Congolese scholars’ right to exercise free speech.
The statement from CASA can be downloaded here in English and here in French.
