About this award: While large scale donations of container-loads of books can be effective, the ASA is trying to fill a perceived gap by increasing the number of small to medium-sized projects that focus on specific, articulated needs.
Successful ASA Awards are granted to those applicants who articulate clearly a strong collaboration in determining what materials are needed at a given site in Africa to support libraries, institutions or grassroots organizations. Detailing how the logistics of shipments also contribute to success. We welcome your story on how the shipment of materials will match your identified needs. Also please indicate what support and contacts you have identified to insure that shipped materials will reach their proposed destination. Please note, awards are sent after the ASA annual meeting in November/December. If successful, ASA would require documentation on how this grant supported your project. Any images, electronic photos or video are also welcome but not required.
