The South African Film Festival (SAFF) Canada and USA southafricanfilmfest.com returns from November 4 to 20, 2026, with a vibrant program of compelling films, engaging discussions and – through its support of Education without Borders – the ability to change lives. With both in-cinema and online screenings, SAFF brings South Africa’s rich storytelling tradition to audiences across Canada and the USA.
Festival highlights include Sam Nzima: A Journey Through His Lens a documentary on the photographer who captured the iconic photograph of students fleeing a peaceful demonstration in Soweto on June 16, 1976. 50 years later the documentary tells the story of the man behind the camera.
