2026 Professionalization and Career Training (PACT) Workshop: Navigating the Job Market in Uncertain Times
The ASA and Emerging Scholars Network (ESN) are hosting the biannual PACT workshop to support emerging scholars entering the U.S. academic job market within the next two years. Participants will receive mentoring from established scholars and leave with polished application materials. The all-day PACT Workshop takes place in New Orleans on Wednesday, December 2, 2026. ESN Mentorship Program
The ESN Mentorship Program supports graduate students entering the U.S. academic job market in 2026 and early 2027. Emerging scholars are paired one-on-one with established scholars for guidance on navigating CV/application development, institutionally tailored materials, interviews, and other job search topics. Join the ESN’s Call for Co-Panelists on “Emerging Scholars, World-Making, and New Directions in African Studies” and present at the ASA Annual Meeting. Read the call and submit your abstract for consideration by March 12 here.
