The faculty of the Department of History at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in West African History to begin August 16, 2026.
Candidates must have a PhD at the time of appointment, and a strong research and teaching agenda. Applicants should present evidence of a strong scholarly record and will be expected to teach introduc-tory and advanced undergraduate courses and graduate level courses in their areas of interest. The field of research is open but should complement department strengths.
