We seek a specialist in Francophone sub-Saharan Africa, whose teaching responsibilities will be three courses per semester, including a first-year seminar in alternate years, survey and topical courses contributing to Oxford’s general education program and the interdisciplinary African Studies major, and an occasional course supporting the French program. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with colleagues across other disciplines whose teaching and research focus on the African continent.

In the cover letter, applicants should describe their interest in working in a liberal arts college with first- and second-year students and should detail how they are prepared to embrace the college’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community through their teaching, scholarship, and other activities. Completed applications received by November 1, 2021, will receive full consideration. Inquiries may be directed to Matthew Moyle ([email protected]).
