The Political Science Department at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in International Relations with a secondary specialization in Comparative Politics. The appointment will begin in Fall 2020. We are looking for a candidate who is broadly trained in one or more of the following issue areas: migration, transnational population flows, global public health, illicit markets, international organizations, and environmental politics. The successful candidate will have fieldwork experience and area expertise in either Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America. We expect the successful candidate to contribute to Skidmore College’s Black Studies Program and/or Latin American & Latinx Studies Program, as well as to the First-Year Experience. The position carries a 3-2 teaching load, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in International Relations and Comparative Politics that will include Introduction to Comparative and International Politics and other courses in their specialization.
