The ASA’s President Professor Abdi Samatar, discussed his recent research which focuses on the question of piracy in Somalia, at an event sponsored by the African Studies Association (ASA) and the Solidarity Centre in Washington DC.

The dialogue session was held on Thursday October 17th in DC, and marks the beginning of a collaborative venture between the ASA and the Solidarity Centre. This new venture will feature a series of dialogue sessions, on issues which cut across the nexus of Inequality, Democracy, and Development in Africa.
