Visiting Assistant Professor in African History
Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally-ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites
applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in African History, beginning July 1,
2025. The successful candidate will teach both survey and upper-level seminar courses with an
emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa. The visitor will also benefit from Kenyon students’ passionate
interest in the humanities and strengthen their credentials with a year of teaching at Kenyon.
Candidates should have a record of excellent teaching and a Ph.D. in hand or be near completion
by the beginning of the appointment.

teaching philosophy that addresses pedagogical inclusion of a diverse student population and an
