Ally & Partner Organizations

The African Studies Association maintains a diverse global network of individuals and institutions. The institutions below are autonomous entities that the ASA partners with, is a member of, or maintains as a close ally in our mission to enhance the exchange of information about Africa. Many of the umbrella organizations below offer events, resources, opportunities, or enhanced advocacy to the ASA and by extension, ASA Members. We are very proud to support the missions of our Allies and Partners and hope you will take advantage of their important programming and other offerings as an ASA Member.

ALLIED ORGANIZATIONS

The ASA is allied with the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), National Humanities Alliance (NHA), National Council of Area Studies Associations (NCASA), Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA), and Scholars at Risk (SAR).

PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS

The ASA maintains important partnerships with Fulbright and the Coalition for International Education.

COLLABORATING ASSOCIATIONS

The ASA’s most important organizational relationships are with other Associations, particularly those focused on Africa and African studies. The ASA is honored to collaborate with the African Studies Association of Africa (ASAA), the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD), and the African Studies Association of the United Kingdom (ASAUK).
