Emy Lindberg is a PhD Candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology, Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research focuses on football migration between Ghana and Sweden. In 2017 – 2019, she conducted ethnographic fieldwork, following and tracking the employment trajectories of Ghanaian footballers. In addition, she mapped the transnational, formal and informal networks that surround the players in order to understand the broader dynamics at play and the impact of his/her journey. Her research interests include: Football, Labor migration, Ghana, West Africa, Time and temporalities, Family and kinship studies, Gender, Race, Football, Aspirations and Dreams.
