Etana H. Dinka is Assistant Professor of History at James Madison University, where he teaches African history courses. He was a Visiting Assistant Professor of African History and Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Oberlin College. He is the Guest Editor of Northeast African Studies special issue, “The Past of Ethiopia’s Present: Unfolding Crises, Cyclical Violence and Competing Nationalism”, Northeast African Studies, vol. 21 (2) (2021) and the author of Society, Revolution and Military Intervention in Ethiopian Politics: Experiences among the Macca Oromo of Wallagga During the Darg Regime, 1974-1991, and has published several articles and reviews in peer-reviewed journals, including in the Journal of African History, African Studies Review, Northeast African Studies, the Journal of Oromo Studies. He is currently working on two book projects.
