This panel will explore the impact of anti-colonial movements upon youth in Africa, as well as youth’s contributions to those movements. This is a broad construction and is open to scholars and graduate students in the social sciences and humanities. Beyond historical, sociological, anthropological and political science studies, scholarship addressing memory, the portrayal of youth in novels concerning anti-colonial movements (or their eras) are welcome and encouraged. This panel is designed to explore the roles, impact, and portrayals of youth in African anti-colonial movements.
